Nice, Old Town

This was definitely my favourite part of the city. A maze of tiny, narrow streets, which keep opening out onto squares with fountains and old churches. The streets are lined with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Tables spill out onto the street, since there is no room for a pavement. The streets are cool and shaded, due to the high walled buildings on each side.
The Old Town is famous for its Flower Market with a vast array of plants and flowers, as well as local produce. Here, there are larger restaurants, catering for the many tourists. It is a lovely place to sit with a glass or a meal and watch the day go by.
