Statue of Queen Victoria, Regina Hotel, Nice. Queen Victoria stayed at the Excelsior Regina Hotel here at Cimiez three times on her visits to Nice.
In fact, this hotel was built precisely with her in mind. She took with her 100 staff and between them, they took over the entire West Wing of the hotel.
The hotel has since been turned into aaprtments, which were particularly well guarded when we tried to gain access to them for some photography... oh well!
