Nice railway station. The Gare de Nice SNCF Centrale is situated on Thiers Avenue is an important link for rail transport throughout the Mediterranean.
There is a tourist information office here (and two more in the city itself). The building itself is attractive with a grand clock (seen here) and decorated balconies. The station links with major French cities, such as Lyon, Paris, Cannes, Marseille and Toulon.
The TGV trains use this station, which has meant that it has had some alteration work done since it was first built in 1867. However, the building is mostly preserved in its original condition.
